280 Bishopsgate
London
2022
The redevelopment of 280 Bishopsgate saw a unique opportunity to not only refresh an early 2000s building but also link the diverse neighbourhoods of Spitalfields, Shoreditch and the City. We worked closely with Arax Properties, CBRE Global Investors, and King Street to redesign the 264,500 sq ft building, formerly the headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Planning permission was achieved for extensive architectural developments to the 13-storey building, including refurbishing the existing façade, creating a 7,800 sq ft dual reception which spans the full length of the building, and a roof terrace for all tenants offering unparalleled vistas of London’s skyline.
The building was designed with sustainability and wellbeing in mind as a part of the refurbishment process and as a result, is the largest WELL Platinum office space in the UK, the first to be multi-tenanted, and one of only two BREEAM Outstanding buildings delivered in London in 2022.
“280 Bishopsgate was constructed in the early 2000s and required a refresh to create a modern space for a range of tenants that will be coming from both the City and Shoreditch. The new space brings in the best elements of hospitality design, inspired by cosy member’s clubs and intimate hotel bars and we are looking forward to seeing new tenants enjoy the space.” Linda Morey-Burrows, Founder and Principal Director of MoreySmith
