LONDON
2017

Designed from shell and core, we were delighted to create the new UK headquarters at 8 Hanover Square for renowned oil and gas company Perenco. This new home for the 200-strong, multi-disciplinary team created an inspiring environment designed for promote maximum flexibility and collaboration.

The first to fourth floors are spacious and light workspaces accommodating the company’s technical and geoscience teams. Bespoke sliding screens provide privacy and writable boards encourage group activity.

The upper three floors are connected by a beautifully sculpted cast concrete staircase, in a helical form inspired by drilling mechanisms. The stairs link the café bar, sixth floor reception and executive offices. The double-height space centrepiece is a bespoke kinetic art installation, titled Flylight, which mimics a murmuration of starlings and was a collaboration between the artists Studio Drift and MoreySmith.

On the fifth floor, a café bar area encourages employees to come together to work and socialise while overlooking the green space of Hanover Square.

Our design used a selection of natural materials including timber flooring, cut and patterned stone and leather wall panelling with bronze inlay. The metalwork details on the staircases and fret-cut features have created a unique identity for the company.
