Great Guildford Street
Located in a recently renovated Victorian warehouse on Great Guildford Street, our second studio is spread over three floors across the road from the existing office where we have been based for 19 of our 29 years. The new workspace connects to our existing creative studio, with access from two parallel street entrances.
Sustainably conscious decisions were made throughout the design, with existing furniture and fittings MoreySmith and local suppliers being re-used and re-purposed. The scheme also features ex-display lighting systems, furniture, and a reclaimed timber floor.
The new workplace showcases many of our key principles, with plenty of greenery, sunlight, and a timeless but paired back palette of materials. A previously filled in-floor void has been opened, flooding the lower ground floor of the studio with natural light and creating a tranquil space for the team to break away from their desks.
A key feature of the studio is a bold, 7.5 metres long and 2.5 m high artwork called ‘5th March 1972’ by Bob and Roberta Smith. Made of recycled wood that the artist collects from skips and refuse yards, it brings colour and energy to the main studio workspace.
