Primark International HQ

Dublin
2015

The collaboration between MoreySmithand Primark began with a simple brief: to redevelop Primark’s existing headquarters enabling them to attract and retain the best talent from across the world. It was also important that the new design encouraged greater interaction between individuals and teams, whilst improving the wellbeing for everyone.

Primark previously occupied two unconnected buildings on the site of the brand’s first ever store. The company’s esteemed history particularly in this location, played a large role in informing the design for the new space transforming its HQ in the heart of Dublin.

Our proposal was to link their existing buildings which included a 24,000 sqft listed structure and a 97,000 sqft 1990’s purpose build office building by creating a new central atrium in a previously redundant external courtyard between the two. The atrium also allowed us to rationalise the previously complex and confusing patterns of circulation and create a true heart between the buildings.

The strategy from the outset was to bring the whole of the business together in a genuinely open plan, transparent and collaborative space.

"The end result is transformational, not only through changing our ways of working but also in creating the opportunity for cross functional interaction our offices are now a true representation of our brand –contemporary energetic and fun.” Paul Marchant, CEO , Primark
